When a pizza delivery company has an especially high volume of calls, for example, there are often not enough people to take all of the orders. A speech recognition system can take the call, get the order, send the order to the appropriate pizza location where the pizza will be delivered from. This is a cost-saving measure to the pizza company, and a time-saving measure for the consumer since they didnt have to wait on the phone for a long time to talk to a real person.
