US Olympic Fencing Teams

The United States will be well represented in this summer’s Olympics in Beijing. As announced on Saturday, April 26th, the United States fencers were able to qualify three teams. The women were able to qualify in two fencing events (sabre and foil), while the men qualified in sabre only. The Women’s Team will have Mariel Zagunis, who took home the gold at the 2004 Olympics, who will again lead their squad. The Men’s Team will also have experience on their side as Keeth Smart is returning for his third Olympic appearance. Keep an eye out for all of these talented fencers as they duel it out in Beijing.
