Now we have the option to purchase something small enough for our pockets or big enough that it takes two people to heft it around. Regardless, there is still something to be said about the ease of using Full Sized Binoculars vs. something like compact binoculars. Mostly because they are great on the eyes, there is no trying to work around tiny lenses getting your eyes squinted just right. Instead you look and see exactly what you what, when you want.
