Young People Learn French Easier

This is because they haven’t learned nor mastered anything else yet thus, their brains are like sponges, absorbing anything that it comes in contact with, and in this case it is information and skill. This is the reason why older people, the ones who especially belong in the mid-20s and above age bracket have a hard time learning new languages since their brain already has some old(no pun intended) information that they got from previous experiences which somehow block the uptake of the new information.
This reason is just one of the many other reasons why kids learn languages a lot faster than adults, though. But most of the time, the old-information versus the new information principle always come first. So, if you want your kid to learn how to speak French, better start now.
