What Will It Take To Get The Police Involved?

I am not sure what the laws are regarding phone harassment in this state. I have been getting harassing calls of an obscene nature, and I am not sure if the police will do anything to help me. I have been anchorage keeping track of the phone calls since I received the second one, and I am thinking about calling the police, but I know that in at least some states the police won’t do anything unless physical violence is threatened (and sometimes not even then!) Does anyone know where I can find out what is required for the police to get involved in a phone harassment case?
