  It sometimes seems like the old way of doing things is stale and boring and this applies to styles as well. Look into an older home and you will see all of the usual culprits of out of date style. Shag carpet, faux wood paneling, and staid window coverings are a couple examples of giveaway out of date styling. A home needs to be fresh and updated so that it feels like a home and its inhabitants can feel comfortable. One example of fixing up these problems would be to put in vertical window blinds to replace the old stuff that cover the windows now.
