Setting Up Aquarium Sand In Your Fish Tank
May 1, 2010 7:45 pm Home and FamilyIf you plan on using aquarium sand for your fish tank, you need to know the most effective means for its set up. Preparing the sand is important prior to placing it inside the aquarium. The sand should be properly cleaned first before using, in order to remove unnecessary debris and other particles. Rinsing the sand with water will help remove needless particles, and once the water is clear, you can finally make use of the sand for your aquarium.
Since you will need to use filters for your aquarium as well, expert care should be taken not to turn the filters on while you are placing the sand inside the tank. Aquarium sand can potentially jam the filters if it is turned on while in the process of placing the sand. Maintenance of the sand should be done regularly as well, preferably in an interval of 2 to 4 weeks. Sand should also be regularly churned to promote water and air circulation.
