Can You Afford Your Health Insurance Plan?
January 31, 2009 12:19 pm HealthMy husband just came home with the news: His company is changing health insurance plans. We are shaking our heads in consternation; already we are paying hundreds of dollars a month to insure our family, and then there is the deductible, the out of pocket costs, AND the co-pay–not to mention the limits the company has put on exactly what and how much they will cover when we have a medical emergency or ongoing need. What if there is a pre-existing condition opt-out that precludes my son’s attention deficit disorder medication? That stuff is $275 dollars a month! Somehow we need to make health insurance plans affordable for the common American.
