Would NLP Training help me in my job?

I am a teacher, and I am wondering whether NLP Training might be able to help me in my job. Would any of the methods used in NLP be useful to help my students do their best? I am interested in learning more about NLP for myself, but if it is applicable for my job I might even be able to get it counted as part of the ongoing education I need for my job. Can anyone tell me whether or not it would be easy to apply the NLP teaching to this purpose? I think that I would be interested in attending a training regardless.
