There are Whole House Generator systems you can purchase that will service the needs of the whole house, but typically most homes won’t need these. The cost of running one of these can be more than paying for electricity on the grid, but these make wonderful back up generators in areas where there are a lot of rolling blackouts due to overwhelming power consumption and not enough power coming from the power plant.
