Street Dance Freestyle Circles
September 19, 2008 2:10 pm ArtsIf you’re learning to dance and are still scared to dance outside of your bedroom you may want to stay away from street dance freestyle circles. Freestyle circles are where they have a circle of dancers and they go in one by one to ‘freestyle.’
Now the thing is they usually expect everyone to go in, it’s not essential but if you’re there they’ll probably urge you on to go in. If you see a freestyle circle and you’re not intending to go in remember to watch from a distance and not look like part of the circle, otherwise don’t be surprised if you get dragged in!
Once you can dance a bit, going into a freestyle circle can be an amazing experience. Everyone’s eyes are on you and you have to think on your feet. It takes guts but once you get over the fear factor it’s a real thrill.
